Day 01: Kumarakom

After arrival in Cochin (air/rail), you will be transferred to Kumarakom. Known widely for its alluding backwaters, Kumarakom is quite popular among locals and tourists. After checking in at the hotel, you will visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and the Backwaters. While relaxing in the Backwater Resort, you can also choose to go for boating at Vembanadu Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Kerala. Then, in the midst of coconuts and lagoons, you can retire for the night; back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 02: Alleppey

After breakfast, check out and head towards Alleppey, the Venice of the East. By noon, you will be able to check in to the Houseboat. Relax and take some shots of the famous freshwater lagoons of Kerala, while winding through narrow canals, rivers and backwaters. On board, partake of some delicious Kerala local freshwater cuisine for lunch. Alleppey is the place to be if you’re interested in coir. From all over the world, people descend to this tiny town in search of coir products. Have a romantic candle light dinner in the houseboat, and stay on for the night.

Day 03: Cochin (Departure)

After disembarking from the houseboat following breakfast, you will go to Cochin for departure. If there is time, you can engage in some sight-seeing in the city. Cochin is known as the ‘Queen of the Arabian Sea,’ and here you can see the famed Chinese Fishing Nets while exploring various parts of the port city like the Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Vasco de Gama Church, Jew Town and Marine Drive, the city’s picturesque promenade. You could also go for a quick round of shopping – the markets are teeming with high-quality Kerala Textiles, Spices, Handicrafts, and loads of other mementoes to take back home, before returning to the airport or railway station for the journey back home, rejuvenated and filled with happy memories.
